Investigation into Alleged Chinese Spy Network
Philippine authorities have uncovered an extensive network of alleged Chinese spies operating within the country. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has identified hundreds of Chinese nationals suspected of engaging in espionage activities, including cybercrimes. Earlier this year, the NBI arrested at least eight suspects and plans to apprehend eight more in the coming weeks. The investigation has received technical assistance from both the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Australian Federal Police.

Teodoro emphasized that such actions by China would be seen as a threat to national security and global trade, given the critical nature of these air routes. Recent incidents have seen increased aerial confrontations involving Chinese forces and aircraft from the Philippines and its allies.
