China still poses a military threat to Taiwan and is continuously boosting its combat capability to a point where it can mount a full attack on the island, according to a new report submitted Wednesday.

China’s combat capabilities are expected to reach that level by 2020, according to the report handed to the Legislature’s Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee by the Ministry of National Defense.

Defense minister Yen Ming is scheduled to attend a hearing on the issue the following day.
